Savor Your Summer

Savor Your Summer: Yoga Session  | Seattle, Washington

Lincoln Park | West Seattle

Summer is to be savored, when the sunshine seems abundant & infinite with the long days. Last summer my schedule was quite crunched for time, and oh how I’ve waited to roll out this blog post! So let’s begin!

What could be better than yoga outdoors? Outdoors wherever you are: your porch, balcony, deck, a nearby field, a local park. You might need a mat with you, but sometimes the grass is perfectly soft. You could bring equipment with you, but you might also find & use things around you for your outdoor playground.

Yoga seems so inclusive for all ages & abilities. It seems relaxing & also energetic, depending on your skill level. (For the record, I only photograph yoga, I don’t do it) — & it looks amazing to me: an interesting combination of strength, focus & athleticism.

Hard to believe that the wonderful Megan did all this in a single session—to me, she looked the same from beginning to end: relaxed, happy, strong & graceful. My favorite part was…all of it, every bit, really. How is it possible to do yoga in water while keeping your balance on one leg? Most unexpected moment: at the very very end, Megan picked the concrete stairs to break out another yoga pose. Really, I was speechless in awe. Movement inspires me & being outdoors on such a gorgeous day was great.
