Courthouse Wedding | Issaquah | One Fine Day

One Spring Day | Sunshine & Sweet Smiles & Saying “I Do”

Our happy couple met online, and fell in love although they lived across the country from each other, and Skyped often. They settled here in Seattle. They love each other and the outdoors! They planned their wedding on a Friday in April in the Issaquah Courthouse —-

The weather forecast? rain, rain rain rain except Friday —we had a very wet spring after a very wet winter season. I checked the various weather reports and here’s what the weather gods told  us —- rain all week, except Friday. Check out our first image: on the left, the report for Friday (see that sun? amazing!!). And…….notice that the weather for the following week was rain rain rain.

The day was absolutely beautiful and the grounds around the Issaquah Courthouse are a protected wetland, with a greenbelt, a forest, and a ravine area —- birds chirped, the sun radiated, a gentle breeze stirred the trees—-cedar and blue spruce and aspen and plum trees. In the distance you can see forested mountains, maybe Cougar Mountain or Tiger Mountain (I really need to learn my geography). This sweet couple enjoyed a few moments together outside.

Once inside, the courthouse chamber was flooded with light, and had a vintage bronze scale (yes, it really still works) which I immediately admired.  There was happy chatter, and laughter, and then the ceremony began. There is something so moving, so special about the promises, pledges, and vows that happen between two people in love.  Simply magical. It’s an honor to be quietly present. My absolute thanks to the bride and groom who allowed me to help document their day. Here’s wishing you a lifetime of sunny days outdoors!
